I am retired and my spouse will be retiring in less than a year so we planned to trade in our 21’ Jayco Skylark for a new, considerably larger 2017 model Jayco travel trailer or a Class C unit within the next two or three months. Of course you realize that any purchase definitely will NOT be a purchase from Charlie Obaugh RV Center. I simply cannot recommend them to anyone unless it is an emergency.
I dropped off my trailer on Monday afternoon and the same person was there, wrote up the service order, and told me that he would give me a call after they checked out the water heater fitting leak and my new A/C problem. I called on Thursday afternoon and after some time spent searching, my work order was finally located by some other person who said that Joe was busy and he said that he would check the status with Joe and then either he or Joe would call me back. He did indeed call me back within 10 minutes and advised me that they had not yet checked my trailer! He told me that I had no scheduled appointment so that it would probably be next week before they could get to my travel trailer. Also, he told me that any water heater leak would not be covered by the service center since they had replaced my water heater in 2015 and their labor warranty was only for 90-days. I just very recently (and accidently) discovered this water leak, a small drip on a fitting screwed into the rear side of the “Obaugh installed” water heater, inside a closed access compartment, after I removed the screws and the access panel. It appeared to have been leaking inside the compartment for a very long time, possibly since the water heater was installed, but luckily did not do any major damage to the trailer.
Very good deals on campers.
The next day, Friday, I traveled to the service center and talked with a different person and learned that neither he NOR Joe was the service manager. I cancelled the written work order with Joe and picked up my travel trailer, HOPEFULLY never to return to the Obaugh RV Center again --- this is not the first time that I have had a problem there. From day one we had various problems with service. On our very first camping run, we discovered that the kitchen faucet would not let even the smallest drip of water pass by. It took several weeks at Obaugh RV Center to get that problem fixed. Obviously they did not check the unit in prepping it for me to pick it up as new. Every time they winterized the unit they left a mess – pink antifreeze splashed all over the shower, both sinks, and the toilet.
I purchased a NEW Jayco travel trailer from Charlie Obaugh RV Center in late 2013. I have exclusively taken my Jayco to this RV center – replacement of a water heater due to freezing of the heater tank, warranty repairs, annual State vehicle inspections, winterizations, etc. On a Thursday, I stopped by the service center to make two appointments – one for maintenance and one in the following month, October, for my annual State vehicle inspection. At that time I was greeted by a very friendly, “take charge” type of guy (Joe) who told me that I did not need to make any appointments – he instructed me to just drop off my trailer on Monday when I was scheduled to return from my weekend camping trip. He also told me at that time that they were not busy and would take care of my trailer on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Had appointment at 10:30 for transmission fluid service, which should have taken less than thirty minutes. Everyone in service took their lunch and and had it ready at 1:45. They just checked to see if it needed changing. Unbelievable that they don't care anymore about their customers

We have a really good sales experience at Charlie O'Baugh RV. We bought a Jayco North Point 5th wheel from salesperson JW Humphries, who couldn't have been more helpful, before, during, and after the sale. Chris, the manager, was available, and everything about the experience was pleasant. Since the sale, we've had some experience with the parts and service departments as well, and that has been good, too. We would highly recommend this dealership if you are looking for an RV.
