I've been going to Fantastic Sams for over a year now. I happened to see these reviews and must say, I was surprised. I've had 2 or 3 of the stylists cut my hair AND do color...and it's always been great. It looks like the reviews were quite a while ago though...so things must've changed because I LOVE going there and wouldn't go anywhere else! Great work for a great price. The salons downtown are WAY too expensive and don't do any better!
Their hair cuts and colors are very beautiful and stylish but I wish they knew how to do more than cut and color. They had 3 stylists there and not one knew how to do a basic braid.Saludos
If you open at noon on Sunday you should have at least 2 stylists there. Some rude woman cut in front of me to get a haircut yesterday and then I had to wait because only one person was working. I watched as 5-6 people walked out who didn't want to wait. I walked out when my 40 minute wait was going to be much longer because rude woman decided she wanted to wax her face. Not fair to the one stylist who was there either.
I don't want to generalize my bad experience to all of the employees at fantastic sams because I have had okay experiences here before, but my last two experiences have made me decide that I'm never coming back to fantastic sams again. In getting my own hair cut, the stylist said, "I know you said just a trim, but your hair is kind of blah so I'm giving you some more dramatic layers." She said this as she was cutting them. She didn't ask my opinion, she just did it. It looked awful. I thought this was just a freak experience, so I took my two year old son for a haircut a few weeks later. Unfortunately, we got the same stylist. She is not good with children. She did not talk to my toddler. She did not reassure him or help him feel comfortable. As a result, my son was terrified when she started the clippers. He started crying and struggling. Rather than reassuring him, she got angry with him and sternly told him, "oh stop it! I'm not hurting you!" She was not gentle and scolded my son for crying. I'm pretty sure my son is coming away from this experience with a horrible fear of haircuts. And I don't blame him. She was mean to my two year old baby. Because my son was screaming and struggling and terrified of his mean stylist, he went away with an incomplete haircut. I won't be coming back to fantastic sams.
Monica is wonderful. She is by far the best hairdresser i've came across in over 10 years!
